My name is Rhona James-French and I am a Gubbi Gubbi woman, married with 2 children and reside in the North Brisbane area. I joined Kurbingui Sporting Association board in 2014 as Treasurer for the club. I wanted to broaden my skills and knowledge by working in committees and on boards, at the same time using that knowledge and my expertise to give back to my community. I am very passionate in helping young people grow to be leaders within our community.
I have spent the last 20 years working in the Justice System and know first-hand how important it is to have community organisations like KSA, that not only help the community to grow but also have a place where people can build positive relationships and be strong role models in our community. I was keen to join the KSA board as they had a real sense of belonging and a passion for their community.
I am hoping that the board can move KSA into a more substantial future without the reliance of funding that will assist the next generation and future generations to come along.
